1. Playa Delfines
I went to a number of beaches in Cancun and there was nothing I loved more than Playa Delfines. It's not too crowded, open to public, crystal clear water, smooth sand and has an amazing sunset view.
2. Las Coloradas
This is where you find the famous pink lagoon and the 2 colour lagoons. It is about 4.5 hours drive from Cancun. If you enter this name into Google map, you will find it!! The sky will even turn pink when you get closer to it, it's really awesome! Tip: Try to avoid toll-free roads as there are many of them on the way and each of them costs as much as 25$ per toll.
Do go to local seafood restaurants there! It's amazingly cheap and good!! I bought 5kg of lobster for only 170$, and ended up eating lobster everyday during my trip haha.
Tulum was just amazing in many ways. I love the beaches there, the ruins and all the affordable excursions that you can find all around.
4. Isla Mujeres and Cozumel Island
I was too tired to take any pictures there, but truly loved these 2 islands. If I were to pick one island only, it would be Cozumel for its stunning beaches. It's also a lot bigger than Isla Mujeres.
Fun stuff to try:
- Stop on the way where you see coconuts and ask local people to chop it down for you. I did that and they charged 1$ USD for 3 fresh coconuts. It was the most amazing experience!!
- Buy fruits on the road wherever you see it.
- Visit night markets in Cancun.
- Eat at local restaurants. It's the best!!
I love Mexico, for all the nice people that I have met there, for the amazing beaches, lagoons and for its lovely weather all year round.
P/s: Thank you for the best time, my dear cousins Anh Thy, Dieu Thy, Umi and my sweetheart Uyen. It was definitely one of the most memorable time of my life!
